Buy Do It Yourself Melting Out Control, Professional Grade Melting Out Killer Spray

Melting Out is a second stage to leaf spot, and these disease in turf is part of the helminthosporium grouping that includes Net Blotch, Brown Blight, and Red Leaf Spot. These diseases are all slightly different but treatments are the same, and some people would even call all of them simply Helminthosporium. Melting Out happens in bluegrasses and bermudagrass as leaf spot makes its way to the crown. Net Blotch occurs in tall fescue, brown blight affects perennial ryegrass, and red leaf spot affects bentgrass, but all of these diseases can be treated as if they are Melting Out. The Helminthosporium diseases produce cigar shaped spores, and disease activity starts on leaf tissue as irregularly shaped lesions that can present themselves in differing shades of colors. In most cases as the disease progresses you will see black or brown borders to the lesions which are the active areas of disease, with tan areas of damaged tissue inside the borders. Melting Out is the most aggressive form of these diseases, as this is the stage when the disease moves past leaf tissue and can damage the crown, in effect killing individual plants. These diseases are most commonly found in cooler, wet weather, particularly mid-late spring, but can be issues whenever temperatures are above freezing and are very readily found in turf in the fall as well. One timeframe where these diseases can be most harmful is in the fall during seeding. This is because as temperatures fall and lawns are heavily watered to promote seed germination, the perfect environment occurs for Helmintosporium diseases. Existing turf can get the disease at this time of year, and immature new seedlings can also be highly susceptible; when new seedlings get hit with melting out, the effect is referred to as damping off and is very common. If you are looking for how to treat melting out or how to control Helminthosporium diseases in general, professional fungicides applied on a rotation can be very useful. Remember when reading labels that the Helminthosporium diseases can go by many different names but are treated the same, so when reading labels it is not uncommon to see Melting Out/Leaf Spot rather than Helminthosporium or Net Blotch, but rest assured that are all treated in the same manner and rates.
