Talak 7.9% F is an insecticide that provides outstanding broad-spectrum control of most common insects in the lawn and garden. Talak is a synthetic pyrethroid using the active ingredient bifenthrin, derived from the chrysanthemum, to control pests including ticks, fleas, mosquitoes, ants, bedbugs, cockroaches, chinch bugs, sod webworm, armyworm, scales, mites and many, many more! Talak 7.9% F is labeled for use in lawns, landscapes, tick habitats, as well as indoors, even in food handling areas. Bifenthrin is one of the most commonly used pesticides because of its broad range of uses and target pests, and Talak 7.9% F is an excellent product if you are in need of a pyrethroid.

The product is very effective once it has dried on the leaf tissue, so after a couple hours. However the label states not to apply within 24 hours to ensure there is not runoff.
If trying to control ants in the actual woods, you will have a very difficult time. For treatment of ants in the lawn and landscape, as well as perimeter control, the recommended use rate is .5-1 oz/k, or a dilution rate of up to .06%, which is 1 oz per gallon. We recommend going at the high end of the label rate since there are so many species of ant, some of which are more difficult to control than others.
